Meet Our

Traveling

Family

Once upon a time, a girl and a boy fell in love. They spent their time together in the great outdoors. Hiking, canoeing, backpacking and camping across the Great Northern Wilderness - all the while dreaming about the future. As often happens in stories like these, eventually two became three.

Over time, six eventually turned to seven, three dogs, and another baby on the way. That girl and boy who fell in love over a campfire, desiring to spend more time with their not-so-little family, decided full-time RV-ing was the way to go.

So, they packed up their trailer, and hit the road. (Okay, it wasn’t quite that easy!) And here is where you find them today. Full-time traveling in their RV with their growing family. Days spent exploring, reading, and most importantly – living together.

We work as a team in what we do, and as a team we offer to you, our readers, information about how to make your time with your children as enjoyable as possible.

That’s our goal. To help you:

so that when you leave your front door to travel with your kids, that you enjoy your time together as much as possible.

MEET THE TEAM

Canoes were replaced with playpens. Backpacks with diaper bags. But camping was still a big part of the little family's life.

Three became four. Then Five. Added to the lifestyle were longer trips, airplanes, vacations, a move across the country, and a MUCH bigger tent.

Five became six plus a dog, and tenting was losing its appeal to the growing travelers. The tent was packed away, and a camping trailer took its place. Weekends away became more frequent, as did longer vacations with opportunities at their 'mobile doorstep'.

Papa Mama AJ

Meet Papa.

This is Alex. He is a contractor by trade with many years of building houses as well as commercial buildings. He loves quiet time (surprise!), walking the dogs, playing at the beach, planning cool things for the family to do, checking out RV parks, mastering towing and trailer maintenance, trying new restaurants, and is constantly learning new things with the kids.

Meet Mama.

This is Melanie. She hung up her accounting pencil to raise kids a decade or so ago. Now she is teacher, nurse, referee, cook… Ok, this list gets a bit long. Her favorite things are a good cup of tea, driving to new areas, playing on the floor with the kids, trying a new recipe, snuggling with babies, sleeping in fresh air, and constantly improving organizational and management skills.

Meet Lynnie.

She is eleven years old, and is the athletic go-getter. Chances are, if you don’t know where she is, you will find her riding her bike, swimming, or spinning cartwheels. Going for a hike, to the beach, or discovering the best playpark in the city are always favorites for her. That time is well balanced with discovering something cool in a book with Matt, telling funny stories with AJ and Nick, or sharing her world with Belle.

 Meet AJ.

He is nine years old, and you will rarely find him sitting down. His favorite pastime (while standing) is building with LEGO. He is best occupied during mandatory sitting times with a good book. He is the family social butterfly, and is a great friend to anyone he meets. With compassion and understanding, he helps new people adapt and feel comfortable, and going new places to meet new people is the best way to spend a day.

Meet Nick.

He is seven years old. Traveling in the RV works well for him. It means he has plenty of ‘trailer time’ to build with LEGO, play games, and have quiet time to do his own thing. Outings are enjoyed, and Nick provides a great perspective to the team. By quietly sitting back and observing, he often can point out things that others walked right past. Always learning new things, he enjoys discovering and exploring wherever we go.

Meet Matt.

He is five years old. He is very easy going and a great sense of humor. Being flexible, he is ready to go and do whatever the family is up to that day, and makes the most out of everywhere we go. He loves playing with Belle in sand or water, learning to ride his bike with Lynnie, reading, and playing LEGO with Nick and AJ, or exploring on his own during an outing. Always ready to be Mama or Papa’s helper, keeping the trailer in good shape is a good day for him.

Meet Belle.

She is 1½. Currently the family fashionista, her favorite day is spent shopping. Forget toys, her ideal purchase is a new pair of shoes. She loves having a little bag to carry around, and is drawn to jewellery and sunglasses. Don’t get the wrong impression, though. She is just as quick to bury her legs in the dirt, be taken for a bike ride, or happily get in to the middle of whatever everyone else is doing. She has a sweet personality, and her siblings are always happy to have her around.
