Outings with kids vary a lot from one family to the next. As your own children grow, you will find what you look for in an afternoon changes too.

So where do you begin? How do you know that where your friend took her kids to will be enjoyed by your kids? It can be tricky, especially when children have such diverse temperaments.

We have just such a family. We have everything: the energetic athlete, the social butterfly, the quiet observer, the go-getter, the busy toddler, diet restrictions, spirited personalities, strollers, nappers, non-nappers, and the list goes on.

In order to best help you know if these ideas would be a good fit for your family, we have tried to provide you with real reviews. Not sales pitches.

We also want you to get an idea of how your children will enjoy the outings you are thinking about, so our kids are included in our review process. Your athletic child might not be the same age as ours, or your girls and boys may be at different stages in life, but hopefully it will give you an idea of how your own kids can relate to any given environment.

Our greatest hope is that one or more of these outings will spark your desire to spend more time traveling with your kids. That you will get excited. That you can find somewhere to look forward to, and maybe, just maybe, you might have as much fun as they do!
